dc.description.abstractSultan II. Mahmut döneminde ülkenin ekonomik ve beşerî kaynaklarını tespit etmek amacıyla tahrir adı verilen kayıtlar tutulmuştur. Tutulan bu nüfus defterlerinde, yerleşim merkezlerinde ikamet eden tüm erkek nüfusun adı, lakabı, mesleği, baba adı, baba mesleği, eşkali, yaşları, engel durumları, askerliğe dair durumları ve gerçekleştirdikleri göç hareketlerine dair bilgiler kaydedilmiştir. Bu kapsamda 1842 tarihli ve 2662 numaralı Çüngüş kazası nüfus defteri incelenmiştir. Çüngüş kazası nüfus defterinden hareketle Çüngüş’ün idari durumu, kaza merkezi ve kazaya bağlı köylerdeki erkek nüfusun dağılımı, kazanın dini-etnik yapısı, yaş gruplarına dağılışı, kişilerin meslek ve sosyal statüleri, hastalık ve özürleri ile Çüngüş kazasındaki arazilerin tasarruf şekli ele alınmıştır. Nüfus Defterinin tanzim edildiği dönemde Çüngüş kazasının büyük bir çoğunluğunu Ermeniler oluşturmaktadır. Birçok meslek sahibi olan Ermeniler, Çüngüş kazasının ekonomik hayatında belirleyici konumdadır. Çüngüş, coğrafi konumu ve ekonomik imkânsızlıkları nedeniyle kendi kendine yeten bir yerleşim merkezi değildir. Bu nedenle ahalinin önemli bir kısmı İstanbul, Adana ve Bursa gibi şehirlere giderek geçimini temin etmeye çalışmıştır. Kaza genelinde ahalinin en fazla mustarip olduğu hastalı göz rahatsızlıklarıdır.en_US
dc.description.abstractDuring the period of Sultan Mahmud II, recor ds called tahrir were kept in order to determinethe economic and human resources of the country.In these population records, information about thename, nickname, profession, father’s name, fat her’s occupation, age, disability, military status,and migration movements of the all-male po pulation residing in the settlement centers wererecorded. In this context, the population recordof Chungush district, dated 1842 and numbered2662, was examined. Based on the populationrecords of Chungush district, the administrativestatus of Chungush, the distribution of the malepopulation in the district center and the villagesconnected to the district, the religious-ethnic stru cture of the district, its distribution to age groups,the occupational and social status of the people,the disease and disability, and the way of culti vation of the lands in the Chungush district werediscussed. At the time when the Population Re gister was drafted, most of the Chungush distri ct was composed of the Armenians. Armenians,who have many professions, were in a decisiveposition in the economic life of Chungush district.Chungush is not a self-sufficient settlement dueto its geographical location and economic diffi culties. For this reason, a significant portion ofthe population tried to make a living by going tocities such as Istanbul, Adana and Bursa. The di sease that the people suffer the most in the districtwas eye diseases.en_US
