dc.description.abstractSıtma Plasmodium ailesine ait protozoaların neden olduğu ve anofel cinsi sivrisineklerle insanlara bulaşan bir hastalıktır. Bu vaka bildiriminde yurt dışı kaynaklı bir P. falciparum olgusu sunuldu. Ateş, titreme, terleme, anlamsız konuşma şikayetlerine sahip 49 yaşındaki bir erkek hasta enfeksiyon hastalıkları po- likliniğine başvurdu. Hastanın hikâyesinden Sudan’da işçi olarak çalıştığı öğrenildi. Hastanın fizik muayenesinde genel duru- munun kötü ve konfüze olduğu tespit edildi. Kalın damla ve ince yayma için parmak ucundan kan alınarak preparat hazırlandı. Bu preparatlar Giemsa yöntemi ile boyanarak incelendi. İncelenen preparatlarda P. falciparum’a ait trofozoitler ve gametositler teşhis edildi. Teşhis sonrası hastaya artesunat başlandı ve tedavi sonrası hasta şifa ile taburcu edildi. Yurt dışı kaynaklı falciparum sıtması vakalarında klorokine direnç ihtimalinden dolayı Artesu- nat ile tedavi seçeneği göz önünde tutulmalıdır.en_US
dc.description.abstractMalaria is a disease caused by protozoans belonging to the Plas- modium family and transmitted to humans with infected fe- male anophylous mosquitoes. In this case report, P. falciparum case originating from abroad was presented. A 49-year-old male patient with complaints of fever, shivering, sweating and meaningless speech applied to infectious diseases policlinic. It was learned from the patient’s epicrisis that he was working as a worker in Sudan. Physical inspection of the patient defined that the general condition was poor and confused. Thick drops and thin spread preparations were prepared from the blood speci- men taken from the fingertip, and these preparations were ex- amined by staining with Giemsa. Trophozoites and gametocytes of P. falciparum were detected in the examined preparations. After the diagnosis, the artesunate was started on the patient, and after treatment, the patient was discharged with healing. Because of the possibility of resistance to chloroquine in fal- ciparum malaria cases originating from abroad, the treatment option with artesunate should be considered.en_US
