dc.description.abstractVeba, tarihte meydana gelmiş birçok savaştan daha fazla yıkıcı olmuştur. İslam dünyasında çeşitli zaman ve mekânlarda ortaya çıkmış bu salgın, zaman zaman ciddi tehlikeler doğurmuş- tur. Hz. Ömer’in halifeliği zamanında Filistin’de ortaya çıkan Amvâs Vebası, zamanla Şam’ın geneline yayılmıştır. Şam’a gitmek isteyen Halife Ömer, vebanın çıktığını duyunca bölgeye gidip gitmeme hususunda tereddüt etmiştir. Yapılan istişare neticesinde bölgeye gitmekten vaz- geçmiştir. Öte yandan Allah Resulü’nün veba hakkındaki ifadelerini de dikkate alarak halkı bu hastalığa karşı uyarmış ve salgından kurtulmak amacıyla çeşitli tedbirlere başvurmuştur. Bu amaçla görevlendirilen Amr b. el-Âs, vebaya yakalanmayanları bulunduğu bölgeden uzaklaş- tırmıştır. Amvâs Vebası’nda binlerce insan hayatını kaybetmiş ve birçok ailenin nesli tükenmiştir. Veba- dan sonra bölge halkının işlerini düzene koymak amacıyla Şam’a giden Hz. Ömer, halkı teselli ettiği gibi gerekli yardımları da yapmıştır. Bu makalede, Hz. Ömer’in halifeliği döneminde Amvâs’ta ortaya çıkıp Şam’ın geneline yayılan ve binlerce insanın ölümüne sebep olan salgının etkileri ile halifenin veba karşısındaki tutumu hakkında bilgi verilmeye çalışılacaktır.en_US
dc.description.abstractThe plague has been more devastating than many wars in history. This epidemic, which emer- ged at various times and places in the Islamic world, has created serious dangers from time to time. Amvâs Plague, which emerged in Palestine during the caliphate of Omer, spread throug- hout Damascus over time. Caliph Omer, who wanted to go to Damascus, hesitated about whether to go to the region when he heard the plague. As a result of the consultation, he gave up going to the region. On the other hand, by taking into account the statements of the Mes- senger of Allah about the plague, he warned the public against this disease and applied vari- ous measures to get rid of the epidemic. Amr b. al-As removes those who do not catch plague from the region they are in. Thousands of people lost their lives in Amvâs Plague and many families had been cut of gene- ration. After the plague, Omer, who went to Damascus to organize the affairs of the people of the region, provided the necessary assistance as well as comforting the public. In this article,the information will be given about the effects of the epidemic that emerged in Amvâs during the caliphate of Omar and spread throughout Damascus and caused the death of thousands of people and the attitude of the caliph against the plague.en_US
