Özet
Dönemin toplumsal olaylarını romanının merkezine yerleştirerek Cumhuriyet’in sancılı yıllarını konu edinen Yeşil Gece romanı, Reşat Nuri Güntekin’in özellikle çağdaş eğitim anlayışının nasıl olması gerektiği üzerinde fikirler sunduğu bir eseridir. Yazar, bireysel sorunları ele aldığı diğer romanlarına nazaran bu romanında toplumsal meseleleri ideal bir öğretmen etrafında ele alarak dönemin sorunlarını işlemiştir. Romanda temel çatışma unsurları çağdaş eğitimi benimseyenler ile softalar arasında gerçekleşir
