The aim of this study is to detect the antibiotic resistance of Acinetobacter baumannii strains isolated from clinical specimens in years 2004-2006 as infection agents. According to the MIC values, the rates of resistant strains in 2004 and 2006 were as follows; 7 % and 25 % to meropenem, 59 % and 59 % to amikacin, 80 % and 88 % to ceftazidime, 54 % and 82 % to ciprofloxacin, 83 % and 87 % to cefepime, 78 % and 87 % to gentamicin, and 73 % and 78 % to co-trimoxazole, respectively. The increase in resistance rates for meropenem and ciprofloxacin in 2006 was found significant. The imipenem resistance was only evaluated for 2006 and the rate was found to be 24 %. The most efficient antibiotics were found as imipenem and meropenem for A.baumannii strains.
