Özet
Pragmatizm, sosyal yaşamın uygulama alanındavar olan,
fakat kuramsal anlamda geç hayata geçirilmiş düşünme
sistemlerinden biridir. Faydacılık ya da yararcılık
şeklinde dilimize aktarılan bu akım, edebî metinlerin
oluşum sürecine birtakım katkılar sunmuştur. Henüz
kuramsallaşmadan önceki haliyle düşünce sisteminde
yansımaları görülen, sonrasında ise metinlerdeki somut
varlığı tespit edilebilen bu akımın, edebî metinlerdeki
ifade ediliş şekli dikkat çekicidir. Bilhassa bazı
dönemlerde verilen eserlerde daha çok gündeme geldiği
görülen akımın, Türk edebiyatındaki varlığı Tanzimat
döneminde tamamen belirginleşmiştir. Bu dönem
yazarlarından Ahmet Mithat Efendi, faydayı
azımsanmayacak düzeyde önemseyen yazarlardan biri
olarak, pragmatist felsefe açısından döneminin ilk akla
gelen isimlerinden olmuştur. Yazarın eserlerindeki
pragmatist söylemi ve bunun bireye ve topluma katkısı,
yazarın pragmatist bakış açısının somut göstergeleri
olarak kabul edilebilir. Birçok türde eser vermiş olan
yazarın, romanlarındaki pragmatist söylem okurlara
felsefeyi anlatır niteliktedir. Yazarın diğer romanlarında
da mevcut olanbu söylem, tek bir roman örneğinden
hareketle mercek altına alınmıştır.
Bu çalışmada, yazarın son romanı olan Jön Türk’ten
hareketle Ahmet Mithat Efendi’nin pragmatist söylemine
dikkat çekilmiştir.
Pragmatism is one of the thinking system that is available in application area of social life but has been brought to life late theoretically. This movement that is translated into Turkish as ‘faydacılık’ or ‘yararcılık’ contributed to formation period of literal texts. Expression in literal texts of this movement of which reflections have been seen before theorizing and palpable existence in texts could be determined later is remarkable. Presence of the movement that has been came up in some periods and works especially became clear in Turkish literature in term of Tanzimat completely. Ahmet Mithat Efendi who is one of the writers of this period is among the names who firstly comes to mind about pragmatist philosophy as a writer who care about benefit considerably. Pragmatist discourse of the writer in his works and contribution of this discourse to individual and society can be accepted as the palpable indicator of the writer’s pragmatist perspective. A lot of pragmatist discourse of the writer who has written various genres commentate the philosophy to readers. Mentioned discourse that exists in other novels of the writer also is scrutinized with reference to only one novel. In this article, it has been focused on the pragmatist discourse of Ahmet Mithat Efendi with reference to his last novel JönTürk.
