dc.description.abstractBu araştırma Dicle Üniversitesi Veteriner Fakültesinde öğrenim gören 1. Sınıf öğrencilerinin genel profilini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmada, öğrencilerin demografik özellikleri, ailevi ve sosyo-ekonomik durumları, üniversite öncesi öğrenimleri, veteriner hekimliği mesleğini tercih etme nedenleri ve kariyer beklentilerinin belirlenmesi hedeflenmiştir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda, birinci sınıf öğrencilerine 2012-2016 yılları arasında anket uygulaması yapılmış, Dicle Üniversitesi Öğrenci İşleri Daire Başkanlığı arşiv verilerinden de yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmada, öğrencilerin yarısından fazlasının Güneydoğu Anadolu Bölgesi nüfusuna kayıtlı olduğu; annelerinin yarıya yakınının okuma yazma bilmediği ve meslek sahibi olmadığı; babalarının çoğunluğunun ilkokul mezunu ve serbest meslek sahibi olduğu ve öğrencilerin yarıdan fazlasının ekonomik yönden düşük gelir seviyesine sahip ailelerden geldikleri saptanmıştır. Sonuç olarak, veteriner fakültesi öğrencilerine ait bilgilerin bir araya toplanarak öğrenci profilinin resmedilmesinin hem yöneticilere hem de akademisyenlere öğrencileri tanıma ve değerlendirme olanağı sağlaması açısından yarar sağlayacağı söylenebilir.en_US
dc.description.abstractThis research conducted to determine the general profile of 1st year students in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Dicle University. The aim of this study was to determine the demographic characteristics, family and socio-economic status, pre-university education, reasons to choose veterinary medicine profession and career expectations of the students. For this purpose, first year students were surveyed between the years 2012-2016 and Dicle University Student Affairs Department archive data were also used. In the study, it was found that more than half of the students were registered in the population of Southeast Anatolia Region, that almost half of their mothers were analphabet and unemployed, the majority of their fathers were primary school graduates and self-employed, and more than half of the students were from economically low-income families. As a result, it is considered that gathering the information of the students of veterinary faculty together and illustrating the student profile will benefit both the directors and the academicians in terms of recognizing and evaluating the students.en_US
