dc.description.abstractThe study has been carried out by the technique of working in land and making observations performed as biweekly periods in march and november, with the aim of determining the distribution, infestation and natural enemies of Sphaerolecanium prunastri (Boyer de Fonscolombe, 1834) (Hemiptera: Coccidae) in the province of Malatya between the years of 2003 and 2004. In consequence of the study, it was determined that the S. prunastri was distributed in the Center, in the districts of Battalgazi, Kale Yazihan and Yesilyurt, which are located in the province of Malatya. In addition, it was detected that the infections higher in the district of Yazihan than it is in the other sampling areas. In the scope of the study which has been carried out in order to determine the natural enemies of the above mentioned pest, the Pachyneuron muscarum (L.,1758), Coccophagus lycimna (Walker,1839), Metaphycus sp., Exochomus quadripustulatus (L.,1758), Cybocephalus fodori minor (Endrody & Younga), Chrysopa sp. species and also Metaphycus sp. have been identified as the natural enemies of the pest.en_US
