Caudal epidural analgesia has gained wide acceptance in pediatric anesthesia as a technique for providing postoperative pain relief and reducing general anesthetic requirements for surgical procedures below the umbilicus. The aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of caudal block with 0.25 % bupivacaine for postoperative pain relief. It is demonstrated that caudal blocks performed with 0.8 mg/kg, 0.25 % bupivacaine produce effective postoperative analgesia in children undergoing either inguinal or penile procedures.en_US
