dc.description.abstractKirghiz people are among the oldest communities of Turkish society. The Turkish Kirghizes, who migrated from Pamir Plateau to Pakistan and were temporarily settled in Malatya and Van and who were afterterwards settled permanently by the Turkish government in a newly constructed village in Ercis, Van, have been getting along with the locals of the area for 29 years while still retaining their own culture despite variations in their lifestyle. However, the effects of this migration from Pamir to Ulupamir and the changes in their living conditions have begun to erase the historical traces of this people, who have suffered great pains during this adventure. There are existing studies on Kirghiz Turks, but these are mostly on their history, art, and literature. Their living spaces, on the other hand, have not been adequately researched, yet it is these spaces that reflect the living culture and retain the historical traces of communities. The aim of this paper is to identify the socio-cultural characteristics of the Kirghizes between the Pamir Plateau and Ulupamir Village by analyzing their spatial environment and to reveal the remains of this culture, which is gradually disappearing / continuing.en_US
