dc.description.abstractHemen her romanıyla büyük yankı uyandıran ve çok tartışılan Orhan Pamuk’un hayalî bir Osmanlı adasında ortaya çıkan bir salgını konu edindiği Veba Geceleri isimli son romanı, okurla buluştuğu ilk günden beri diğer eserleri gibi adından çokça söz ettirdi. Veba Geceleri, merkezine salgın ve karantinayı almış olsa da romanda iktidar çekişmeleri, aşk, Doğu-Batı çatışması gibi konular da eserin ağırlık kazanan diğer konularıdır. II. Abdülhamit’in Sağlık Başmüfettişi Bonkowski Paşa’nın esrarengiz ölümüyle polisiye özellikler de taşıyan Veba Geceleri, gerek tarihî şahsiyetlere gerek günümüzün siyasi ve sosyal olaylarına atıflarda bulunuyor olması yönüyle alegorik bir eser özelliği taşımaktadır. Bu çalışmamızda Orhan Pamuk’un bu son romanını yapı ve izlek bakımından inceleyerek romancının hem roman tekniğine ilişkin izlediği yolu hem de alegorik bir dille anlattığı olayları gün yüzüne çıkarmaya çalıştık.
dc.description.abstractMaking news with almost every novel and talked about enormously, Orhan Pamuk's latest novel, Plague Nights, which is about an epidemic that emerged in an imaginary Ottoman island, has made a name for itself like his other works since the first day it met with the reader. Even though Plague Nights has taken the epidemic and quarantine at its center, the subjects such as power struggles, love, East-West conflict are also the other themes of the work that gain weight. With the mysterious death of the Abdulhamid II’s Chief Health Inspector Bonkowski Pasha, Plague Nights, which also has detective features, is an allegorical work in that it refers to both historical figures and today's political and social events. In this study, we tried to bring to light both the novelist's path regarding the novel technique and the events he described in an allegorical language by examining this last novel of Orhan Pamuk in terms of structure and theme.
