dc.description.abstract | Protein synthesis was studied in rabbit reticulocytes in a solution 2-deoxy-D-glucose containing incubation medium. It was observed that protein synthesis decreased compared to D-glucose media. Moreover much more protein is synthesized in 2-deoxy-D-glucose media when reticulocyte S-100 are examined in the polyphenylalanine test system, compared to D-glucose media. When reticulocyte S-100 obtained from D-glucose containing incubation medium were examined in polyphenylalanine test system, much more protein is synthesized in the presence of rat liver Elongation Factor-2 as compared with the media were Elongation Factor-2 is absent. On the other hand it was observed that elongation factor-1 did not significantly influence protein synthesis on polyphenylalanine test system of reticulocyte S-100 with-D-glucose media. | en_US |
