Özet
Padişahlar iktidarlarını korumak için sık sık sadrazam değişikliği, memurlarının tecdid-i beratı, politik evlilik ve kafes sistemi gibi çeşitli yöntemlere başvurmuşlardır. Bunların dışında kullanılan en etkili yöntem “kardeş katli” idi. Kardeş katli Osmanlı Devletinin çağdaşı olan tüm devletlerde örnekleri görülen bir uygulamaydı. Nizam-ı âlem ve bekası için uygulanan bu yöntem Osmanlı devletinde hukuki bir zemine oturtulmuştu

The other effective method was fratricide. There were examples of fratricide all other states besides Ottoman Empire. Aim of this method was providing order of state and this method placed to legal base in Ottoman Empire
