Soundscape studies have long been focused on the importance of the semantic properties of sound along with its physical characteristics. As a continuation of the previous study about the soundscape perception of four squares along Taksim and its two kilometer long route to Tunel, this paper investigates the sonic environments through comparisons between subjective parameters and psychoacoustic parameters such as equivalent sound pressure levels (Leq), loudness (N), roughness (R) and sharpness (S). The analysis and evaluation of soundscapes were examined for the route overall and four key squares. At each location questionnaries were completed and binaural recordings were conducted in addition to questionnaires. Sound metric analysis were accomplished through post-signal analysis methods in both cases. It was aimed to obtain if dissimilarities between perceptual properties of four key squares can be observed via sound metrics. © 2015 by ASME.en_US
