dc.description.abstractBu çalışmada 28 Mart 2004 ve 29 Mart 2009 yıllarında yapılan yerel seçimlerin Van ilindeki sonuçlarının etnik kimlik bağlamında incelenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Beş yıl arayla yapılan bu iki seçimi farklı partilerin kazanmasında etnik yapının yönelimlerinin belirli olduğu varsayımıyla hareket edilmiştir. İldeki seçmenin oyları 2004 yılında yapılan seçimde AKP'ye, 2009 yılında yapılan yerel seçimde ise DTP'ye yönelmiştir. İldeki diğer partilerin oylarında önemli bir oranda değişiklik görülmemiştir. Bu yüzden çalışmada AKP ve DTP dışındaki partilere yer verilmemiştir. Bu çalışmada öncelikle Etnisite, Etnik Kimlik, Etnik Grup kavramları tanımlanmış, bölgedeki Kürt nüfusu hakkında demografik bilgiler verilmiş; çalışma boyunca mülakat yapılan 20 kişiden alınan cevaplarla söylem analizi yapılmıştır. dc.description.abstracthis study aims to analyze the results of local elections which was held in 28 March 2004 and 29 March 2009 in Van within the context of ethnic identity. It is assumed that the reason behind success of different political parties in these successive elections was connected with orientation of local ethnic structure. The voter population living in the region voted for AKP in 2004 and for DTP in 2009. There was not a significant change in vote rates of other political parties so political parties except AKP and DTP had not been taken into consideration. In the study, firstly the terms of ethnicity, ethnic identy, ethnic group were defined and demographical information was given about Kurdish population.
