Analyzing Turkish Textbooks in Terms of Inclusion of World Literature Examples

| dc.description.abstract | Textbooks are the basic course resources that every student can access during the education process. For this reason, textbooks should be prepared with this awareness and within the framework of the curriculum of that course. Turkish textbooks are also the books that serve as a source for teachers and students in the Turkish lesson process. Turkish textbooks, which are prepared within the scope of the Turkish curriculum, convey the determined curriculum and at the same time present the students with distinguished literary examples of Turkish and world literature. In the study, it was examined to what extent secondary school Turkish textbooks included examples of world literature. The fact that a similar study has not been conducted before reveals its importance. The study, in which one book at each grade level was examined, was conducted according to document analysis, one of the qualitative research methods. Then, the data obtained were analyzed by descriptive analysis. As a result of the study, examples of world literature included in secondary school Turkish textbooks were determined. Accordingly, 9 content related to world literature were determined in the 5th grade Turkish textbook, 13 in the 6th grade Turkish textbook, 10 in the 7th grade Turkish textbook, and 9 in the 8th grade Turkish textbook. The identified world literature examples are not only in the main texts, but also in the main texts in the form of citations, in the activity, in the free reading texts and in the end-theme evaluation questions. As a result, it has been concluded that the contents of world literature in Turkish textbooks are not sufficient. | |
| dc.description.abstract | Ders kitapları, eğitim öğretim sürecinde her öğrencinin ulaşabildiği temel ders kaynaklarıdır. Bu nedenle ders kitapları hazırlanırken bu bilinçle ve o dersin öğretim programı çerçevesinde hazırlanmalıdır. Türkçe ders kitapları da Türkçe dersi sürecinde öğretmen ve öğrenciye kaynaklık eden kitaplardır. Türkçe dersi öğretim programı kapsamında hazırlanan Türkçe ders kitapları, belirlenen müfredatı aktarırken aynı zamanda Türk ve dünya edebiyatının seçkin edebi örneklerini öğrenciye sunar. Çalışmada ortaokul Türkçe ders kitaplarının dünya edebiyatı örneklerine ne düzeyde yer verdiği incelenmiştir. Daha önce benzer bir çalışmanın yapılmamış olması önemi ortaya koymaktadır. Her sınıf düzeyinde bir kitabın incelendiği çalışma, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman incelemesine göre yapılmıştır. Sonrasında elde edilen veriler betimsel analiz ile analize tabi tutulmuştur. Çalışma sonucunda ortaokul Türkçe ders kitaplarında yer verilen dünya edebiyatı örnekleri tespit edilmiştir. Buna göre 5. sınıf Türkçe ders kitabında 9, 6. sınıf Türkçe ders kitabında 13, 7. sınıf Türkçe ders kitabında 10 ve 8. sınıf Türkçe ders kitabında 9 adet dünya edebiyatı ile ilgili içerik tespit edilmiştir. Tespit edilen dünya edebiyatı örnekleri sadece ana metinlerde değil ana metinlerin içinde atıf şeklinde, etkinlik içerisinde, serbest okuma metinlerinde ve tema sonu değerlendirme sorularında bulunmaktadır. Sonuç olarak Türkçe ders kitaplarındaki dünya edebiyatı ile ilgili içeriklerin yeterli düzeyde olmadığı sonucuna varılmıştır. | |
