In this study, body lipids of an endemic freshwater snail Pseudamnicola bilgini collected from Sultanköy in Mardin in October 2007 were fractionated by thin layer chromatography. Total lipids, fractionated lipids such as phospholipids and neutral lipids of whole snail were analyzed by capillary gas chromatography and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. In the analysis, C12:0, C13:0, C14:0, C15:0, C16:0, C17:0, C18:0 saturated fatty acids; C16:1?7, C18:1?9, C20:1?9 monounsaturated fatty acids and C18:2?6, C18:3?3, C20:2?6, C20:3?6, C20:4?6, C20:5?3, C22:6?3 polyunsaturated fatty acids were found. The structures of odd-numbered fatty acids and C20 polyunsaturated fatty acids were confirmed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. The percentages of fatty acids in the lipid fractions were compared with each other. In the analyses, C18:1?9 (16.2%-33.0%), C16:0 (21.3%-24.0%) and C18:2?6 (8.5%-14.5%) acids were the most abundant components.
