The species collected from the Southeastern Anatolia Region has been identified as a new record for the Flora of Turkey. In the study, the description, designation key, distribution map and pictures are given.Öğe Biosynthesis, characterization, and biomedical applications of gold nanoparticles with cucurbita moschata duchesne ex poiret peel aqueous extracts(Mdpi, 2024) Kaval, Uğur; Hoşgören, HülyaIn this study, AuNPs were biosynthesized from Cucurbita moschata fruit peel extracts. Biosynthesized AuNPs exhibited maximum absorbance at a 555 nm wavelength, and XRD analysis indicated that the CM-AuNPs had a particle size of less than 100 nm and a cubic crystal structure. TEM scans revealed that the gold particles exhibited a spherical morphology, with an average size of 18.10 nm. FTIR analysis revealed strong peaks indicating the presence of functional groups involved in the reduction reactions. The surface charge of the biosynthesized AuNPs was determined to be -19.7 mV. The antibacterial and antifungal activities of AuNPs against pathogen strains were assessed by the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) method. The cytotoxic effects of CM-AuNPs on cancer cell lines (Sk-Ov-3, CaCo2, and A549) and healthy cell lines (HUVEC) were investigated using the MTT method. The findings indicated that AuNPs biosynthesized by the green synthesis method using C. moschata peel aqueous extract had high inhibition on the growth of pathogenic microorganisms and effective cytotoxic activity against cancerous cell lines at low doses. As a result, it can be concluded that CM-AuNPs will be eminently effective in the production of antibacterial and/or anticancer drugs in the pharmaceutical, food, and cosmetic industries.Öğe Green synthesis of silver nanoparticles from Allium cepa L. peel extract, their antioxidant, antipathogenic, and anticholinesterase activity(MDPI, 2023) Baran, Mehmet Fırat; Keskin, Cumali; Baran, Ayşe; Hatipoǧlu, Abdülkerim; Yıldıztekin, Mahmut; Küçükaydın, Selçuk; Hoşgören, HülyaThe present work deals with the green synthesis and characterization of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using Allium cepa (yellowish peel) and the evaluation of its antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anticholinesterase activities. For the synthesis of AgNPs, peel aqueous extract (200 mL) was treated with a 40 mM AgNO3 solution (200 mL) at room temperature, and a color change was observed. In UV-Visible spectroscopy, an absorption peak formation at ~439 nm was the sign that AgNPs were present in the reaction solution. UV-vis, FE-SEM, TEM, EDX, AFM, XRD, TG/DT analyses, and Zetasizer techniques were used to characterize the biosynthesized nanoparticles. The crystal average size and zeta potential of AC-AgNPs with predominantly spherical shapes were measured as 19.47 ± 1.12 nm and −13.1 mV, respectively. Pathogenic microorganisms Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Candida albicans were used for the Minimum Inhibition Concentration (MIC) test. When compared to tested standard antibiotics, AC-AgNPs demonstrated good growth inhibitory activities on P. aeuruginosa, B. subtilis, and S. aureus strains. In vitro, the antioxidant properties of AC-AgNPs were measured using different spectrophotometric techniques. In the β-Carotene linoleic acid lipid peroxidation assay, AC-AgNPs showed the strongest antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of 116.9 µg/mL, followed by metal-chelating capacity and ABTS cation radical scavenging activity with IC50 values of 120.4 µg/mL and 128.5 µg/mL, respectively. The inhibitory effects of produced AgNPs on the acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and butyrylcholinesterase (BChE) enzymes were determined using spectrophotometric techniques. This study provides an eco-friendly, inexpensive, and easy method for the synthesis of AgNPs that can be used for biomedical activities and also has other possible industrial applications.Öğe Güneydoğu Anadolu Bölgesi'nde yetişen Onobrychis miller türlerinin sistematik, morfolojik ve kromozom sayısı bakımından araştırılması(2016) Hoşgören, Hülya; Saya, ÖmerBu çalışmada, Güneydoğu Anadolu Bölgesi'nde yayılış gösteren Onohrychis Miller cinsine ait 8 tür (O. caput-galti, O. cristu-galli, O. aequidentata, O* carduchorum, O. megataphros, O. galegifolia, 0. kotschyana, O. radiata), sistematik, morfolojik ve kromozom sayısı bakımından incelenmiştir. İncelenen türler, Lophobrychis, Otwbtychis ve Hymenohrychh seksiyonlarında yer almışlardır. Türlerin daha iyi tanıtılabilmesi için morfolojik özelliklerini gösteren şematik şekiller, çiçek ve çiçek kısmaları ile meyvalannın çizimleri verilmiştir. incelenen 8 türün kromozom çalışmaları için tohumlarından yararlanılmıştır. Kromozom çalışmaları sonucunda türlerin somatik kromozomları sayılmıştır. Bunlardan 5 türün (O. kotschyana, O. megataphros, O. carduchorum, O, radiata, O. galegifolia) kromozom sayımlan ilk defe yapılmıştır. Microscopic observations on surfaces of these leaves showed variety from elliptical to ovate stomata with length of 0.81-2.02 μm and width of 1.58-3.80 μm. An increase in stomatal index (SI) in the leaves of plants grown in vitro was observed most specifically in the hardening phase. (17.49±0.04). The stomatal index declined in the leaves of plantlets transferred to in vivo conditions subsequent to the hardening phase. In order to measure water loss, leaves obtained from all types of samples were dried in the oven between 30 minutes and 2 hours and weighed. The percent water loss of in vitro leaves of multiplication phase was greater than the other phases. The stomatal differentation was found to be influenced by the different hardening regimes applied. Hardening by covering the pots with polyethylene bags improved the survival rate. This study indicates that optmization of in vitro micropropagation stages is necessary to avoid transplantation stress.Öğe KADMİYUMUN (Cd), Brassica napus ssp. Oleifera (KANOLA) BİTKİSİNİN YAĞ ASİTLERİ ÜZERİNDE MEYDANA GETİRDİĞİ DEĞİŞİKLİKLER(E-Journal of New World Sciences Academy, 2017) Hoşgören, HülyaBu çalışmada, zararlı bir toprak kirleticisi ve bir ağır metal olan Cd’un (0.25mM, 0.5mM ve 1mM) önemli bir yağ bitkisi olan Kanola(Brassica napus ssp. oleifera)’nın vejetatif organlarındaki yağ asidi bileşenleri ve total yağ miktarı oranlarına yaptığı etkiler araştırılmıştır. Reflüx işlemi ve gaz kromatografisi uygulanan bitki ve bitki organlarının toplam yağ asidi miktarları HP 3365 Chem Station bilgisayar programı ile elde edilmiştir. Townsend, O. kotschyana Fenzl., O. megataphros Boiss.) which are distributed in Southeastern Anatolian region were investigated in point of morphologics and chromosome numbers. Examined species are belong to the Onobrychis section. Figures of Onobrychis species, draws of flowers and its parts were given more to determinate the species. The chromosome number studies in species were carry out in plant seeds. The somatic chromosome numbers of examined species were counted. The numbers chromosome of three species were determined for the first time, the chromosome numbers of species have been found as 2n=14, 2n=14, 2n=32, respectively.Öğe Vicia taxa in the flora of Turkey(2013) Başbağ, Mehmet; Hoşgören, Hülya; Aydın, AliBu derleme çalışmasında Türkiyede Vicia cinsine ait 66 tür, 27 alt tür ve 29 varyete olmak üzere toplam 122 takson tespit edilmiştir. Bunlardan 11 tanesinin ise endemik olduğu görülmüştür. Mevcut fiğ taksonları içinde 76 adet tek yıllık, 26 adet çok yıllık, 6 adet tek veya iki yıllık, 5 adet tek veya çok yıllık, 1 adet iki veya çok yıllık ve 1 adette iki yıllık fiğ taksonları tespit edilmiştir. Taksonlara ait kromozom sayıları ise; 14 kromozomlu 44 adet, 12 kromozomlu 14 adet, 10 kromozomlu 5 adet ve 28 kromozomlu 1 adet olarak tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca 19 taksonda birden fazla kromozom sayısının olduğu bulunmuştur. İllere göre en yaygın ilk üç takson sırasıyla, Vicia cracca L. subsp. stenophylla Vel. (31 il), V. speregrina L. ve V. sativa L. subsp. nigra (L.) Ehrh. (28 il) olmuştur.
