Asymptomatic flesh-colored lobular nodule on the nose
(Dermatology Online Journal, 2018) An I.; Harman M.; Ibiloglu I.
Chondroid syringoma is a rare benign tumor of the skin appendages. Chondroid syringoma is mostly manifested by a slow-growing, painless, well defined subcutaneous or intradermal nodule. A 43-year-old man presented to our clinic with the complaint of an asymptomatic nodule on the dorsum of the nose for 8 months. The lesion was totally excised. Histopathological examination was notable for epithelial islets embedded in the chondroid matrix in the dermis. The patient was diagnosed with chondroid syringoma in light of the clinical and histopathological findings. © 2018, Dermatology Online Journal. All rights reserved.

Herpes simplex superinfection with hailey-hailey disease: Case report
    (Turkiye Klinikleri, 2013) Uçmak D.; Harman M.; Akkurt Z.M.; Türkçü G.; Acar G.
Hailey-Hailey disease (familial benign pemphigus) is an autosomal dominant acant-holytic dermatosis. The disease shows painful erosions and vesicles situated on an erythematous background especially in the intertriginous area. Herpes simplex infection associated with Hai-ley-Hailey disease differs from eczema herpeticum in that it is more localized. A 55-year-old female presented with vesicular lesions on the edge of wide inguinal erosions. A Tzanck smear revealed single hypertrophic nucleated acantholytic round cells with basophilic cytoplasm and one or two marked nucleoli at the periphery of the nucleus, adjacent to the nuclear membrane. Herpes simplex superinfection of Hailey Hailey disease is very rare and may not come to mind in diagnosis. A Tzanck smear, which is faster and easier than other tests for diagnosis, should be undertaken when there is clinical suspicion of herpes infection and antiviral treatment should be administered without delay. Partial chemical matricectomy with phenol in the treatment of ingrowing toenail
    (2000) Akdeniz S.; Harman M.; Şimşek M.; Türkmen H.
Background and design: Management of ingrowing toenail with chemical matricectomy technique has been suggested that it is surgically simple to perform and have a very high success rate. The effectiveness of the matricectomy with phenol in the treatment of ingrowing toenail was investigated in patients who were non-responder to conservative treatments. Materials and methods: The technique of chemical cauterization with phenol was performed in 36 patients who had 41 ingrowing toenails. Results: Healing occured within 2-4 weeks after treatment and there was no infection in any patient. Operated patients were followed-up for nine months; in one of them spicule formation was observed. Conclusion: Partial matrix destruction with phenol in the treatment of ingrowing toenail has been found an effective treatment procedure in conclusion.

    Post- pemphigus acanthomata
    (1998) Aytekin S.; Harman M.; Yilmaz F.; Civas E.; Aktas M.; Derici M.
Pemphigus is a group of vesiculobullous disorders in which the blisters usually heal with hyperpigmentation. The appearance of acanthomata at sites of previous blisters has been noted in some cases. We described a 48-year- old patient with pemphigus vulgaris, who was treated with systemic steroids, and who developed acanthomata on the sites of some healed blisters. The acanthomata were seen as verrucous lesions at sites of healed blisters, and were observed in the trunk. Histopathology of lesions showed suprabasal cleft associated with hyperkeratosis, acanthosis, and papillomatosis. Acantholytic cells were seen intraepidermally within the cleft. Acanthomata occurring in patients whose pemphigus is in remission is not uncommon. Since post- pemphigus acanthomata shows histopathologic activity, these cases should be carefully followed-up.

Treatment of axillary hyperhidrosis with botulinum toxin. A case report
    (2000) Akdeniz S.; Harman M.; Alp S.; Çetin H.
Background: Localized idiopathic hyperhidrosis is a disorder of sweating, unknown pathogenesis. If conventional treatments remain ineffective, surgical treatments such as sympathectomy and excision of the active sweat glands, are alternatives. Previous studies have shown botulinum toxin's effect in reducing sweat production. We present a patient who have been treated effectively with botulinum toxin.
