    The formation of callus cultures from unpollinated pistils in cotton plant (Gossypium hirsutum L.)

    In this study, unpollinated floral buds of cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) were cultured on the Murashige and Skoog (MS) media containing Kinetin (Kin) and Indol Asetic Acid (IAA) at different concentrations for the callus cultures. The nutrient medium containing 2 mg/l Kin + 1 mg/l IAA was observed to be the best medium for the callus formation from ovule and ovarium tissues.

    A study on the investigation of fatty acids in pulps and seeds of Olea europaea L. (Hirhali) and Olea europaea L. (Zoncuk)

    The composition of fatty acids in pulps and seeds of Olea europaea L. (Hirhali) and Olea europaea L. (Zoncuk) was investigated. Palmitic, palmitoleic stearic, oleic, linoleic and linolenic fatty acids were determined in phospholipid and neutral lipid fractions of pulps. In both fractions, oleic acid was seen as the highest, while palmitoleic and linolenic acids were at the lowest levels. In phospholipid fraction of Zoncuk, palmitoleic, and in neutral lipid fraction, linolenic acid were not determined in the seeds, oleic acid was found as the highest. In addition, myristic acid, which was not determined in phospholipid and neutral lipid fractions, was found it the seeds.
