    The comparison studies on the proliferation of lateral sues of Vitis vinifera L.cv. Alphonse during different periods of the year at in vitro conditions

    In this study, lateral buds of Vitis vinifera L.cv. Alphonse were used as material. During micropropagation, 2mg/l BAP (6-benzylaminopurine) and during rooting, 2mg/l NAA (proportional to-Naftalen Aseticacid) was added into the Murashige-Skoog (1) medium, which is used in culture studies. our aim is to compare proliferation capabilities of lateral buds of Alphonse grapevine in terms of various periods of year in in-vitro conditions. As a result, rooty seedling were obtained from lateral buds cultivated in yearly period of time,and it was determined that the most favourable and productive seedlings were those obtained from materials cultivated in the months November and December. It was also established that the success rate of seedlings obtained from materials cultivated in these months was about 80-85 %.

    The formation of partenocarpic grapes in in vitro conditions from flowers of Vitis vinifera L. Cardinal

    In this study, we aimed to transform the flowers of Vitis vinifera L. cv. Cardinal into the berries at in vitro conditions. For this purpose, we used the modified Murashige and Skoog nutrient media (1) nutrient media containing 2 mg/l BAP (M1), 1 mg/l BAP + 1 mg/l 2,4-D (M2) and 0,1 mg/l BAP + 1 mg/l 2,4-D (M3). Pistils were grown only in nutrient media containing 2 mg/l BAP (M1), but not in other media.

    In vitro micrografting of mature pistachio (Pistacia vera var. Siirt)

    The success of various in vitro micrografting methods of shoot tips of pistachio (Pistacia vera L. var. Siirt) have been examined. Excised zygotic embryos that germinated in vitro were used as rootstocks. Current year shoot tips from mature trees of pistachio micrografted onto in vitro juvenile rootstocks, resulted in the restoration of shoot-bud proliferation. Variables tested include a size of microscion, grafting method, effects of culture medium and effects of time of the year at which shoot tips were used. The results indicate that the easiest and most successful method for grafting was slit micrografting. High levels of micrograft take were achieved with 2-4 mm (56.75%) and 4-6 mm (79.25%) long scions obtained from the regenerated shoot tips. The survival rate of the shoot tips was directly related to time of the year. The best growth of microscion was obtained with the in vitro forced shoot tips rather than with shoot tips excised from tree. Slow growth and lack of axillary shoot development on the micrografts was noticeable when the micrografts were cultured on hormone-free and germination medium. In vitro micrografted plantlets were successfully weaned and no problems were encountered with the establishment of micrografted plants in vivo.

    The research on Cu++ metal bioabsorption with nasturtium officinale

    The aim of this work is to look at the absorption rates of Cu++ ions by Nasturtium officinale. For this purpose the solutions containing different concentrations of Cu++ ions (0.1; 0.3; 0.5; 1; 2; 3; 4 and 5 mgL(-1)) have been prepared. We have placed the plants of the relatively same size in each concentration. After 24, 48 and 72 h, the Cu++ concentrations in the solutions were measured for each concentrations. The plants exposed to the Cu++ ion concentrations of 0.1; 0.3 and 0.5 mgL(-1) were found to absorption all the metal ions present without any effects on the plants, while at the concentrations of 1, 2 and 3 mgL(-1), there is an accumulation at certain levels, despite some effects on the plants. However, at the solutions of 4 and 5 mgL(-1), it was observed that the plants died after a short time. In conclusion, Nasturtium officinale is able to absorption the lower concentrations of Cu++ ions but it seems that it is not able to accumulate the higher concentrations of Cu++ ions.
