dc.description.abstractOsteogenesis imperfekta, osteopeni, tekrarlayan kırıklar, yaygın kemik ağrıları ve özellikle uzun kemik deformiteleri ile karakterize bir hastalıktır. Mevcut klasik tedaviler ile başarı sağlanma imkanları oldukça kısıtlıdır. Kliniğimizde osteogenesis imperfekta tip III tanısı ile takip edilen iki kardeş hastaya bir yıl süre ile 20 günlük periyotlarla pamidronat sodyum tedavisi uygulandı. Tedavinin etkinliği yıllık gelişen kırık sayısı ve kemik dansite ölçümleri ile değerlendirildi. Takiplerde ölçülen parametrelerde anlamlı düzelmeler saptandı. Klasik tedaviler ile sonuç alınamayan şiddetli osteogenesis imperfektalı olgularda pamidronat sodyum ile tedaviye iyi yanıt alındığı ve güvenle kullanılabileceği düşünüldü.en_US
dc.description.abstractOsteogenesis imperfecta is a disease characterized by osteopenia, recurrent fractures and generalized skeletal pains. There is limited success in present classic therapy models for the disease. Treatment with pamidronate was given to two brother patients followed up with the diagnosis of Osteogenesis imperfecta at our department, for a duration of one year with 20 days intervals. The efficacy of the treatment was evaluated with follow up of the number of fractures per year and with measurement of bone densities. Significant improvements were detected by the observed parameters. Pamidronate sodium is thought to be effective and can be confidentially used in the patients with sever osteogenesis imperfecta who do not respond to conventional therapies.en_US
