dc.description.abstractAkut tonsillit tanısı alan hastalarda tedavi, klinik bulgu ve semptomlarının azaltılmasının yanı sıra etken patojenin eradike edilmesi ve rekürrenslerinin önlenmesi amacı ile yapılır. Kısa zamanda klinik iyileşme ve uzun süreli bakteriyel eradikasyon istenen bir özelliktir. Bu amaçla beta hemolitik strepkoklara bağlı akut tonsilitde tek doz benzatin penisilin G ile günde tek doz üç gün oral azitromisin tedavisine alınan yanıtlar değerlendirildi. Azitromisinle tedavi edilen grupta klinik ve bakteriyolojik iyileşme daha çabuk oldu. Benzatin penisilin G, azitromisine göre daha az yan etki göstermesine rağmen gelişen anaflaktik reaksiyon nedeniyle tedavisi durdurulduğundan azitromisin daha güvenilir bulundu.en_US
dc.description.abstractIn patients diagnosed with acute tonsillitis, treatment is carried out with the aim of reducing the clinical signs and symptoms, as well as eradicating the causative pathogen and preventing its recurrences. Clinical recovery in a short time and long-term bacterial eradication are desirable features. For this purpose, responses to a single dose of benzathine penicillin G and oral azithromycin once a day for three days in acute tonsillitis due to beta hemolytic strepcocci were evaluated. Clinical and bacteriological recovery was faster in the azithromycin-treated group. Although benzathine penicillin G showed fewer side effects than azithromycin, azithromycin was found to be more reliable since its treatment was stopped due to the anaphylactic reaction.en_US
