    AN EVALUATION ON DISASTER ECONOMY AND DISASTER INSURANCE IN THE WORLD AND TÜRKİYE

    The global effects of climate change around the world have been seen more clearly in recent years. The increase in the number of natural disasters is directly proportional to the increase in the economic losses of countries. Disaster management is very important in preventing disasters and reducing the effects of loss of life and property in preparation for disasters. In this study, it is aimed to emphasize the importance of disaster management by looking at the situation of disaster economy and disaster insurance in Türkiye and in the world. For this purpose, the reports of the Disaster Epidemiology Research Center (CRED), Emergency Events Database (EM-DAT), Natural Disaster Insurance Institution (DASK) and Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) were examined. As a result of the study, it was thought that disaster management reduces the effects of loss of life and property and improves disaster insurance in Türkiye and the world. In addition, it has been estimated that disaster insurance is at least as effective as disaster management in reducing the economic effects of natural disasters such as earthquakes and floods, which are the most common in Türkiye.

    DÖVİZ PİYASALARINDA DÖVİZ REZERVLERİNİN DÖVİZ EKONOMİSİNE OLAN ETKİSİ

    Döviz rezervlerinin günümüzde giderek artan bir öneme sahip olduğu ve özellikle gelişmekte olan piyasalar ile gelişmiş ekonomiler arasında önemli bir bağlantı unsuru olarak işlev gördüğü bilinmektedir. Döviz rezervlerinin kullanımı, merkez bankalarının ekonomik istikrarı sağlamak, para ve kur politikalarını desteklemek, dış ödemeleri gerçekleştirmek ve döviz likiditesini sağlamak gibi temel amaçları bulunmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, döviz rezervlerinin döviz piyasalarıyla olan ilişkisine bakılarak döviz ekonomisine olan etkilerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla, 2002-2023 yılları arasında literatür taraması yapılarak döviz rezervlerinin neden önemli olduğu ve döviz rezervlerinin kullanılmasında ne gibi sonuçlar doğuracağına bakılmıştır. Bunun yanı sıra, döviz kurundaki dalgalanmaların dış ticarete olan etkisi incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın sonucunda, döviz rezervlerinin gelişmekte olan piyasalar ile gelişmiş ekonomileri birbirine bağlamada giderek daha önemli bir rol oynadığı görülmüştür. Ayrıca, döviz kurundaki dalgalanmaların ülkelerin Pazar paylarına göre dış ticarette farklılıklar yaratabileceği tahmin edilmiştir.

    Examination of the Relationship Between Economic Growth and Education Expenditure s in Türkiye [T

    Almost every country around the world has tried to find a solution to the problem of how public expenditures will affect economic growth while implementing their economic policies. Therefore, studies examining the relationship between public expenditures and economic growth are important. In this study, education expenditures, which constitute the largest share in public expenditures, were selected as a sample. The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between education expenditures and economic growth in Türkiye in the short and long term by conducting a literature review. For this purpose, studies between 2009 and 2023 (29 articles, 7 master's theses, 1 doctoral thesis) were researched by considering education expenditures and economic growth theoretically. According to the literature review conducted as a result of the study, it has been suggested that the increase in education expenditures in Türkiye has a positive effect on economic growth.
