    Determination of Electrical and Photoelectrical Properties of Schottky Diodes Made Using New Chitin Derivatives Synthesized as Interface Layer

    5-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-2-furoic acid and anthraquinone-2-carboxylic acid were reacted separately with chitin. The synthesized products were characterized by various spectroscopic methods (FTIR, NMR and XRD) and were abbreviated as C524D2FA and CA2CA, respectively. The surface of the chitin derivatives, pulverized by pounding in mortar, was examined by SEM technique. Then, two different diodes were made by using these chitin derivatives as an interface layer. Al as metal and p-Si as semiconductor were used in the construction of the diodes. Some important properties of these diodes made were determined both in the dark and under an illumination of 100 mW/cm(2). The Al/CA2CA/p-Si diode has been found to be more ideal than the Al/C524D2FA/p-Si diode conducted in this study and many other diodes made using Al and p-Si in other studies up to now.

    Determining the perceptions of pre-service teachers on technology-based learning during the Covid-19 process: a latent class analysis approach

    In the study, latent class analysis (LCA) was used to determine the unobserved structures and the subpopulations of pre-service teachers' technology-based learning behaviours. According to LCA results, three latent classes were obtained. These classes are labelled as Class-1: "High-Level Technology Perception", Class-2: "Low-Level Technology Perception", Class-3: "Intermediate-Level Technology Perception". When Class-1(Reference Group) and Class-2 were compared, it was observed that the covariates of "gender" and "the Covid-19 pandemic affecting learning motivation" did not have a significant effect on Class-2. It has been determined that pre-service teachers who are older, studying in the 4th grade, using the Internet for more than 8 h a day, have advanced computer skills and have advanced technology-based learning experience are less likely to be in Class-2. In addition, in the study, while self-directed learning with technology was associated with pre-service teachers' attitudes towards online teaching in the Covid-19 period and class membership, the fear of Covid-19 was not associated with latent class membership.

    E-learning management system: students’ views about influence of computer and internet on health

    In today’s world of developing technology, which has spread the use of the Internet and the computer to reach the necessary information, determining the effects of these two tools on individuals’ health could allow preventing possible future problems. Considering the fact the Internet and computer are now commonly used as an educational tool, the effects of these tools on human health should be determined via scientific research. The results to be obtained should be presented to users of these tools to overcome the related deficiencies, if any. The present study was designed in line with the feedback provided by preservice teachers who are likely to use these technologies in their future professional lives. The participants of the study were 453 preservice teachers attending Ziya Gokalp Education Faculty at Dicle University. In the study, a scale developed by Ozmutaf, Ozgur and Gokmen (2008) was applied to the preservice teachers in online environment. The results revealed that the participants’ use of the Internet and computer had effects on human health; that the effects significantly differed with respect to the variable of gender (p<.05); and that the effects did not differ depending on the participants’ age or on their department.

    E-learning Management System: Students’ Views about Influence of Computer and Internet on Health

    Today, the Internet used to reach information and the computer used to access the Internet have increasingly become widespread, and determining the effects of these tools on individuals' health could prevent possible future problems. Considering the fact that the Internet and computer are commonly used as an educational tool, it is important to conduct studies to determine the effects of these tools on individuals' health. The results of these studies could be presented to individuals using these technologies, and the related deficiencies, if any, should be overcome. The present study was designed based on the feedback provided by students who would, as future teachers, use such technologies in their professional lives. The participants of the study were 453 students attending Ziya Gökalp Education Faculty at Dicle University. In the study, the scale developed by Özmutaf, Özgür and Gökmen (2008) was applied to the preservice teachers in an online environment.     Education Faculty Students' Levels of Satisfaction with E-Learning Process

    Also, e-learning environments, which integrate technology into education, have now become widespread and popular. Examining how students use this education management system is fairly important for the success of this system, and any possible results to be obtained are significant. For this purpose, the present study was conducted with 348 students attending an education faculty. In the study, the courses of 'Introduction to Computer' found in their curriculum were taught to the students for two academic terms with the e-learning management system. At the end of the academic year, a questionnaire was applied to the future pre-service teachers to determine their levels of satisfaction with e-learning. The results revealed no significant difference in the preservice teachers' levels of satisfaction with e-learning in terms of their gender, their education program and their department. In addition, it was revealed out that there was a significant difference at the significance level of p<.05 between their levels of satisfaction with e-learning and their levels of knowledge of Internet technologies It was found out that the students' mean score regarding their satisfaction with e-learning was calculated as <(X)over bar>=3.80, which referred to I don't agree. The students thought that teaching a course with this method is important for learning new education management systems, and the students who were introduced to technology during their university education, reported that this education should be given following their university education.

    Education faculty students' views about use of e-books

    Parallel to technological developments, numerous new tools are now available for people's use. Societies adapt these tools to their professional lives by learning how to use them. In this way, they try to establish more comfortable working environments. Universities giving vocational education are supposed to teach these new technologies to their students to help them become successful in their future profession. Books that serve as the basic sources of information for education faculty students are increasingly being transformed into e-books parallel to these new technologies. In line with these developments, identifying students' approaches and preferences regarding e-book could help determine the needs regarding this type of new technologies. In line with this purpose, the present study aimed at determining the views and preferences of preservice teachers regarding e-book as well as their levels of general knowledge about this technology. The participants of the study were 1179 students attending an education faculty (660 female, 519 male). In the study, qualitative and quantitative methods were used together. The results revealed that the students did not have sufficient knowledge about e-book and that they regarded any digital source on the Internet as e-book. Of all the participating preservice teachers, only 6% of them had sufficient knowledge about e-book.

    Effects of Multimedia Videos Designed for Computer Package Software Training on Learning

    Use of videos as multimedia materials in class and integration of these materials into education increase the quality of education. This study was conducted with 219 students attending the departments of Elementary School Teaching and PreSchool Teaching at Education Faculty in the academic year of 2011-2012. In order to determine their level of background knowledge, the students were given an achievement pre-test regarding educational subjects. The test questions prepared by the Ministry of Education and private courses given by companies like European Computer Driving License (ECDL) and Microsoft were used to determine the students' levels of knowledge about the package software regarding which training would be given. The results of the study revealed that the courses given using multimedia videos were more successful than those given based on traditional methods.

    EĞİTİM FAKÜLTESİ ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN BİLGİSAYAR DESTEKLİ UZAKTAN EĞİTİM SİSTEMİ (MOODLE) MEMNUNİYET DÜZEYLERİ

    Eğitimi teknolojiyle birleştiren uzaktan eğitimin, üniversitelerde eğitim platformu olarak kullanılmaya başlanması ve yaygınlaşması bu sistemin öğrenciler tarafından nasıl kabul gördüğünün bilinmesini zorunlu hale getirmiştir. Öğrencilerin eğitim müfredatlarında geçen derslerin verilmesi için kullanılan uzaktan eğitim sistemi Moodle (Modular-Object-Oriented-Dynamic-Learning-Environment) konusundaki düşünceleri, bu yöntemle aldıkları derslerdeki başarılarını etkilediği düşünülmektedir. Bu araştırmanın örneklemi Eğitim Fakültesinde 2011-2012 ve 2012-2013 öğretim yıllarında öğrenim gören 1050 öğrenciden oluşmaktadır. Bu çalışma sonucunda öğrencilerin uzaktan eğitim memnuniyet düzeylerine ilişkin güvenilirlik kat sayısı Cronbach Alpha değerleri 0,94 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Öğrencilerin büyük oranı (% 76,57) uzaktan eğitim yönetim sistemiyle aldıkları eğitimden sonra eğitim gördükleri bölüme ait uzaktan eğitim seçenekleri bile olsa yine de yüz yüze eğitimi seçecekleri belirlenmiştir. Bununla birlikte öğrencilerin % 58,29'u eğitim gördükleri bölüme ait dersleri hem örgün eğitimle yüz yüze, hem de uzaktan eğitim sistemi ile birlikte (harmanlanmış eğitim) olarak almayı tercih etmektedir. Öğrencilerin cinsiyet değişkenine göre uzaktan eğitim memnuniyet düzeyleri arasında anlamlı farklılık bulunamazken, gördükleri derslerin yürütülmesine ilişkin seçimleri ve bilgisayar kullanabilme bilgi düzeyleri arasında p <0,05 düzeyinde anlamlı farklılığın olduğu belirlenmiştir. Bununla birlikte öğrencilerin % 40,57'si şu an gördükleri eğitim programlarının uzaktan eğitim yönetim sistemiyle verilmesi için uygun olduğunu ifade ederken sadece % 18,29'u uygun olmadığı konusunda fikir beyan etmişlerdir

    Eğitim Fakültesi öğrencilerinin kitap okuma alışkanlıkları üzerine betimsel bir araştırma: Dicle Üniversitesi örneği

    Öz:Türkiye'de okuma alışkanlığı konusunda günümüze kadar yapılan çalışmaların neredeyse tamamında toplumun okuma ve kütüphane kullanımı alışkanlıkları oldukça zayıf görünmektedir. Yaşanan bu genel durumun üniversite öğrencileri üzerinde de benzer görünüme sahip olduğu görüşünden hareketle, bu araştırma ülkemizde üniversite öğrencilerinin kitap okuma alışkanlıklarının belirlenmesi açısından büyük önem taşımaktadır. Çalışma grubunda yer alan eğitim fakültesi öğrencilerinin kitap okumaya yönelik görüşlerinin irdelendiği bu çalışmada amaç, öğrencilerin okuma alışkanlığını ve bu alışkanlığın içeriğini betimlemeye çalışmaktır. Araştırma 2011-2012 eğitim-öğretim yılı bahar yarıyılında Dicle Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi'nde öğrenim gören 220 öğrenciye uygulanmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda öğretmen adaylarının yarısından fazlasının kitap okumayı sevdiği, kitapları temin ederken satın aldıkları veya arkadaşlarından ödünç aldıkları ve kitap okuma tercihlerinin macera türünde olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bunun yanında öğrencilerin önemli bir kısmı okumamalarını ders yoğunluğuna dayalı nedenlerle açıkladıkları görülmüştür. Kitap okuma sevgisini aşılamadaki en büyük etken olarak kişinin kendisi olduğu ve anne-babanın etkili olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.

    Evaluation of students' attitudes towards e-exams and use of technology in theology distance undergraduate education programs

    The purpose of this study was to introduce the multimedia applications in Theology Distance Undergraduate Education Program (TDUEP) and to determine the users’ attitudes towards exams executed to assess the outcomes. For this purpose, PowerPoint documents, videos, SCORMcompatible e-learning materials and Adobe Connect live lesson applications were developed to guide users in theology education as well as to make the teaching and learning process more entertaining. The study was carried out with 1500 students registered to TDUEP at a state university. The questionnaire form developed was applied to the students during the end-of-term exam week. The questionnaire forms which were not filled out completely or appropriately were excluded, and the remaining total number of questionnaire forms decreased to 1286. The results of the analysis of the questionnaire forms filled out by the participants revealed that there was no significant difference in the students’ attitudes towards the web-based assessment system with respect to their gender and class grades. On the other hand, the results of the Chi-Square independence test conducted to examine whether the variable of gender had any relationship with the exam duration, place-independence of the exams and use of the exam system demonstrated that there were significant differences between the groups.

    Examining preservice teachers' levels of self-efficacy perceptions regarding Web

    Purpose This study aims to focus on how preservice teachers' academic achievements, their frequencies of connecting to the distance learning management system, their gender and the related sub-scales influence their Web-based self-efficacies (WEB-PCK) and their attitudes towards distance education (WBI). Design/methodology/approach In the study, the structural equality model was used. In the path analysis, the maximum likelihood estimation method was used to predict the parameters of the model. This method allows determining the highest values for the population and the probability of the sample value to occur. Findings It was found that the sub-scale of Web communication (WEB-C) had a high level of direct and positive influence on the male preservice teachers' self-efficacy perceptions. As for the female preservice teachers, WEB-C did not have any direct influence on their self-efficacy perceptions. For the male preservice teachers, Web pedagogy (WEB-PC) had positive influence on their self-efficacy perceptions (beta = 0.193), while the sub-scale of WEB-PC had a high level of influence on the female preservice teachers' self-efficacy perceptions (beta = 0.534). Originality/value In the study, the purpose of was to examine the effects of the attitudes of the preservice teachers towards Web general (WEB-G), Web-Communication (WEB-C), Web pedagogical knowledge (WEB-PK), Web pedagogical self-efficacy (WEB-PCK) and Web-based instruction (WBI) with the help of the structural equation model with respect to gender, frequency of connection to the internet and academic achievement grades.

    Examining PRESERVICE teachers' use of SMARTBOARD and pc tablets in lessons

    Transfer of knowledge to future generations has always been performed by people since existence of early humans. Today, with the developments in technology, education is presented in several ways and through a wide variety of tools such as two- or three-dimensional learning contents, animations, video conference lessons and interactive applications. Parallel to these developments, smartboards, tablets, virtual laboratories and cooperative learning environments have resulted in more innovative solutions in teacher training and changed the way of teaching. Education given with this type of technological tools helps make learning more permanent. The quality of education given with technological tools is determined by students' approach to and knowledge about these tools. In the present study, the purpose was to reveal preservice teachers' views about the use of smartboards in classes. The study was carried out with 124 preservice teachers attending different departments at Education Faculty of a state university in the Southeast of Turkey in the Fall Term of the academic year of 2016-2017. The results obtained in the study demonstrated that there were significant differences between the preservice teachers' views about the audio-visual use of tablet computers and smartboards in classes with respect to their departments. Analysis of the research data also revealed that use of tablet computers in classes did not decrease motivation based on gender.

    Examining the Attitudes of Students from State and Foundation Universities in Turkey towards the Computer and WWW (World Wide Web)

    Today, universities' investments in computers and Internet technologies used to process information and to present this information to students are increasing incrementally. In addition, it is seen that higher education institutions which could plan their students' education processes by integrating technology into these processes have increased the quality of education. Determining the university students' levels of knowledge about computer use as well as their attitudes towards the Internet and computer will help determine their technology use. The purpose of this study was to determine the computer experience of students at state and foundation universities and their attitudes towards the Internet and computer. For this purpose, in the study, the Personal traits, Computer Use, Computer Attitude Scale and Web Attitude Scale developed by Liaw (2002) was used. The participants of the study were students from Bahcesehir University (n=645) and from Dide University (n=1538) in the Spring, Winter and Summer Terms between the academic years of 2008-2010. In the study, the related attitudes of the students from state and foundation universities were observed. The results revealed that the difference between the attitude scores of the students from state and foundation universities regarding their attitudes towards the Internet and computer was significant at p<0.05.

After removing incomplete or improperly filled questionnaires, a total of 596 participants' responses were used for factor analysis. The scale was made up of four factors: user expectations on web-conference systems, user preferences for web-conferencing system, user attitudes towards using web-conferencing systems, and user problems experienced while using web-conferencing systems.

    Future of e-libraries in universities

    However physically big libraries designed for the benefits of students attending universities are, the sources they include are more important. Considering the increasing capacities of universities, the problems that libraries encounter with are increasing day by day. Therefore, it is necessary for universities to adopt the concept of e-library and to take electronic librarianship into consideration while restructuring the services provided by universities via their libraries. The purpose of this study was to determine the needs by revealing the interface features, differences, ease of use, comprehensibility for users and the advantages and disadvantages of the system in the processes of e-library designing. In this respect, it is believed that students will be provided with better services with the increase in the quality of education at universities that will use e-library.     Geleceğin öğretmenlerinin kitap okuma alışkanlıklarının incelenmesi: Dicle Üniversitesi örneği

    Öz:Bu araştırmanın amacı, geleceğin öğretmenlerinin kitap okuma alışkanlıklarına ilişkin görüşlerini incelemektir. Çalışmada iki bölümden oluşan bir anket kullanılmıştır. Anketin birinci bölümünde öğrencilerin demografik bilgilerinin yer aldığı dört madde, ikinci bölümde ise okuma alışkanlığına ilişkin on dördü kapalı yedisi açık uçlu yirmibir madde yer almaktadır. Araştırmanın modeli betimleyici ilişkisel tarama yöntemidir. Araştırma verilerinin analizinde frekans yüzde aritmetik ortalama kullanılmıştır. Çalışma grubu iki yüz öğrenciden oluşmaktadır. Çalışmada elde edilen bulgulara göre; geleceğin öğretmenleri kitap okumakla kültürel gelişmelerine katkıda bulunabilecekleri, toplum içerisinde takdir edilen biri olma ve kendine güven duyma isteklerinin de okumada ağır bastığı sonucu elde edilmiştir. Öğrencilerin kitap seçiminde, kitaplara ait tanıtımlar ve arkadaş tavsiyelerinin etkili olduğu, kitap sevgisinin kazanılmasında en büyük etkenin ise kişinin kendisi ve arkadaşlarının olduğu belirlenmiştir. Geleceğin öğretmenlerinin kitap okumalarına engel olarak bilgisayar, internet, TV gibi teknolojik araçların neden olduğu, bunun yanı sıra eğitim gördükleri kurumdaki sınavların da önemli etken olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.

    Geleneksel kütüphanelere alternatif bir tasarım: E-kütüphane

    Öz:Kütüphaneler toplumların gelecekten günümüze bilgi kaynaklarının depolandığı yapılar olarak düşünülmektedir. Geleneksel kütüphanelerin sadece inşa edildikleri bölgedeki insanlara hizmet vermesi, kütüphanelerin elinde kaynakların toplumun geneline hizmet vermesini engellemektedir. Kütüphanelerin internet ortamına taşınarak hizmet verecek bir yapıya kavuşturulması kütüphanelerin elindeki kaynakları internet kullanan tüm insanların hizmetine açılmasını sağlayacaktır. Bu çalışmanın amacı eğitim kurumları için geleneksel kütüphane tasarımlarına alternatif bir kütüphane tasarımının nasıl oluşturulacağını yansıtmak ve e-kütüphane kullanımına ilişkin öğretim elemanların görüşlerini değerlendirmektir. Bu araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden olgubilim deseni kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden maksimum çeşitlilik örneklemesinden yararlanılmıştır. Katılımcılar, 2013-2014 öğretim yılında Türkiye'deki bir üniversitede görev yapan 13 öğretim elemanından oluşmaktadır. Çalışmada veri toplamak amacıyla araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan açık uçlu sorulardan oluşan yapılandırılmış mülakat kullanılmıştır. Araştırma verilerinin çözümlenmesinde betimsel analizden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda kütüphanelerin geleneksel yapıdan kurtularak dijital olarak e-kütüphane dönüşmesini, bu şekilde istenilen kaynaklara daha rahat ve daha hızlı erişebilecekleri tespit edilmiştir. Bunun yanında geleneksel yapıda hizmet veren kütüphanelerin yavaş ve sorunlu olduğu, gerekli alt yapıların oluşturulması ile kütüphanelerin yeni bir kimliğe kavuşabilecekleri sonucuna varılmıştır.
