Öğe The Affect of Behavioral Risk Factors on Healthcare System Performance(2021) Kurt, Mehmet; Konca, Murat; Biçer, İsmail; Çakmak, CumaBehavioural risk factors are known to have an impact on countries' health system performance. Behavioral risk factors include habits such as alcohol consumption, smoking, and patterns of food consumption which might lead to different types of obesity among different age groups in every community. In the context of OECD countries, this study aims at investigating whether behavioral risk factors have an impact on healthcare system performance or not. Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and then Ordinary Least Squares Regression (OLS) was utilized to bring into the open the factors that affect health performance scores of OECD countries. In OLS, the obtained health performance score was utilized as a dependent variable and alcohol and tobacco consumption and obesity rate were utilized as independent variables.According to the OLS results, The only variable that has a statistically significant effect on the health performance scores of OECD countries is the alcohol consumption rate.To reduce health expenditures and improve health system performance, OECD countries need to develop more effective, macro and micro, level policies to eliminate the negative effects of behavioral risk factors. Such policies might include health awareness campaigns and more strict taxing policies upon the risk factor products, in addition to increasing community-based healthcare services.Öğe CONCEPTIONS ON PROFESSIONAL HEALTH MANAGEMENT OF NURSING HEALTH MANAGERS AND INTERROGATION ON THE REQUIREMENT OF DIFFERENT POSITION NURSING MANAGEMENT; DIYARBAKIR SAMPLE(Cahit AYDEMİR, 2017) Kurt, MehmetThe determination of the opinions of the executive nurses about the professional health management and the questioning of the necessity of the different position nurse management in Diyarbakır state hospitals compose the basis of this study. The study sample consisted of 56 (70%) nurses who agreed to participate in the survey and a cross-sectional study was planned. All data were collected, using face-to-face interview method with the questionnaire form and the obtained informations were evaluated statistically with the SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) 18.0 package program. Nurse executives; % 82.1% stated that they regarded health care management as a professional profession, % 50 stated did not have education on health management and general administration, % 40.7 stated did not consider it necessary to take these trainings and % 75 stated volunteered to transfer their duties to professional health-care executives (directors). That has to be regarded as a managerial issue that the enormous number of executive nurses in different positions and the nurses have been excluded from the titles they should be assigned to. Araştırma örneklemini ankete katılmayı kabul eden 56 (% 70) hemşire oluşturmuş olup kesitsel tipte bir çalışma planlanmıştır. Veriler anket formu ile yüz yüze görüşme yöntemi kullanılarak toplanmış ve elde edilen bilgiler SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) 18.0 paket programı ile istatistiksel olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Hemşire yöneticilerinin; % 82,1' i sağlık hizmetleri yöneticiliğini profesyonel bir meslek olarak gördüğünü, % 50' sinin sağlık yönetimi ve % 51,8' nin genel yönetim üzerine eğitim almadıklarını, % 40,7' si bu eğitimleri almalarını gerekli görmediklerini ve % 75' i görevlerini profesyonel sağlık yöneticilerine devretmede gönüllü olduklarını, ifade etmişlerdir. Çalışmada, farklı pozisyonlardaki yönetici hemşire sayısının çokluğu ve hemşirelerin asıl görevlendirilmeleri gereken unvanlarının dışında tutulmuş olmaları yönetimsel sorun olarak tespit edilmiştir. Sağlık yöneticiliği eğitimi almışların istihdamı önünde ki engeller kaldırılmalıdır
