Ergen bağımlılığının risk faktörleri; bireysel, ailesel ve çevresel faktörler olarak ele alındığında “travma” çevresel faktörler arasında önemli yer edinmektedirÖğe Depresif kız ergenlerde intihar davranışının şiddeti, algılanan cinsiyet eşitliği ve çocukluk çağı travmalarının ilişkisi: Türkiye’nin bölgelerine göre farklılıklar(ANP Publishing, 2022) Kafalı, Helin Yılmaz; Işık, Adem; Ocakoğlu, Binay Kayan; Kardaş, Burcu; Kardaş, Ömer; Demir, Gizem Müjdecioğlu; Akpınar, SerapObjective: To investigate the association between suicidal behavior, perceived gender equality, and childhood traumas among depressive adolescent girls who have attempted suicide in the last 1 year. Method: 84 adolescent girls aged between 12-18 (Eastern Provinces n=34, Western Provinces n=50) were assessed via Columbia Suicide Severity Scale by clinicians to determine the severity of their suicidal behavior. Participants and their mothers filled the Perception of Gender Scale (PGS); participants completed Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ), and Beck Depression Inventory (BDI). Results: Participants from the eastern provinces had significantly lower PGS scores (t=-2.369, p=0.02) and hig-her BDE (t=-2.081, p=0.04), and CTQ-Emotional Neglect (U=537.500, p=0.03) scores than those from the western provinces. Participants from the eastern provinces more frequently classified into high-severity suicide cluster than those from the western provinces (X2(1)=6.215, p=0.01). PGS score was significantly correlated with both CTQ-emotional neglect score (rho=-0.240, p=0.03), maternal education level (rho=0.282, p=0.001), and maternal-PGS score (rho=0.430, p<0.001). Adolescents in high-severity suicide cluster had lower PGS (t=-2.369, p=0.02) and maternal-PGS scores (t=-2.138, p=0.03) and higher CTQ scores (t=2.195, p=0.03) than those in low-severity suicide cluster. In the logistic regression analysis, the only significant variable that predicted being in the high-severity suicide cluster was maternal-PGS score (B=-0.051, p=0.02). Discussion: The current study showed that more traditional gender role perception in mothers and adolescents was associated with more severe suicide attempts among depressive adolescent girls. Having been raised in families with more traditional social roles may have caused these adolescents to experience more emotional neglect, higher depression severity, thus more severe suicidal behavior.Öğe Depresif kız ergenlerde intihar davranışının şiddeti, algılanan cinsiyet eşitliği ve çocukluk çağı travmalarının ilişkisi: Türkiye’nin bölgelerine göre farklılıklar(2022) Kafalı, Helin Yılmaz; Işık, Adem; Ocakoğlu, Binay Kayan; Kardaş, Burcu; Kardaş, Ömer; Demir, Gizem MujdecioğluObjective: To investigate the association between suicidal behavior, perceived gender equality, and childhood traumas among depressive adolescent girls who have attempted suicide in the last 1 year. A total of 261 adults with ASDs and their parents were recruited for the study. Both parents completed the Beck Depression and Maslach Burnout Inventories and reported the functioning of their adult offspring with ASDs. Only 5.4 % of our sample reported “good” or “very good” outcomes. The most common psychiatric comorbidities were intellectual disabilities and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. Maternal burnout and depression scores were significantly elevated compared to those of fathers. There is an undeniable urgent need for more research to identify the needs of adults and families suffering from ASD. Modifications for those with ASD may have to be made for support in workplaces, achieving driving licenses, using public transportation and attendance at tertiary education.Öğe INTERNET AND SMARTPHONE ADDICTION OF STAFF WORKING IN AN ADOLESCENT ADDICTION TREATMENT CENTER(2021) Kardaş, Burcu; Kardaş, ÖmerAIM: In this study, it was aimed to evaluate the level of smartphone and internet addiction among the staff working in the substance dependence treatment center serving children and adolescents under the age of 18. MATERIAL AND METHOD: The study included 30 people from different professions working in the child adolescent substance dependencetreatmentcenter.Participantsweregivenasociodemographic data form, Smartphone Addiction Scale-Short Version (SAS-SV) and Short Form of Young’s Internet Addiction Test (YIAT-SF). RESULTS: The mean score of the SAS-SV is 25.3± 11.4 and YIAT- SF is 19.2± 8.3. These values are accepted as low-moderate according to literature.. A negative significant correlation was found between age and YIAT-SF (p=0.012, r=-0.454). Also, a positive significant correlation was found between both scale scores (p<0.001, r=0.707). CONCLUSION: Internet and smartphone addictions of staff working in the adolescent addiction service were found to be similar to the results of studies conducted with other healthcare professionals. In this regard, there is a need for studies involving staff working in different dependence treatment centers and units.Öğe Investigation of the effect of comorbid psychopathologies on glycemic control in children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes mellitus(ANP Publishing, 2022) Kardaş, Burcu; Kardaş, Ömer; Demiral, Meliha; Ünal, Edip; Özbek, Mehmet NuriObjective: The presence of comorbid psychiatric conditions in chronic diseases makes the management of the disease difficult. Our study, we aimed to examine the relationship between psychiatric comorbid conditions and glycemic control in children and adolescents with Type 1 Diabetes. Method: In our study, depending on the number of patients, good and moderate controls were evaluated as a single group, and HbA1c levels of 8.5 and below were included in this group. Children for Depression Inventory (CDI), Screen for Child Anxiety-Related Emotional Disorders (SCARED), Turgay Child and Adolescent Behavioral Disorders Based on DSM-IV Screening and Evaluation Scale were applied. The case and parents were evaluated with K-SADS-PL.Among 778 diabetic patients who were followed up in the pediatric endocrinology clinic, 73 cases between the ages of 8 and 17 who were followed up regularly, who did not have any comorbidities and who accepted to participate in the study were evaluated psychiatrically. Results: Of the 73 cases included in the study, 29 were accepted as the patients with good glycemic control (HbA1c≤8.5 mg / dl), and 44 as with poor glycemic control (HbA1c> 8.5mg / dl). In cases with poor glycemic control, parents' education level and income level were significantly lower, while the rate of attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder, major depressive disorder, social anxiety disorder and psychopathology was significantly higher. Discussion: The findings of this study revealed that there are many factors affecting glycemic control and there is a strong relationship between glycemic control and psychopathologies.
