Öğe Cis-platinum combination chemotherapy during pregnancy for mucinous cystadenocarcinoma of the ovary. Case report(1999) Bayhan G.; Aban M.; Yayla M.; Gül T.; Yaldiz M.; Erden A.C.[No abstract available]Öğe Malignant ovarian germ cell tumors: Analysis of 32 cases(2003) Yilmaz F.; Gül T.; Uzunlar A.K.Objective: In this study, some clinicopathologic characteristics and the outcome of patients with malignant ovarian germ cell tumors (MOGCT) were evaluated. Materials and Methods. The clinical charts and pathologic reports of 32 patients with MOGCT treated at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and diagnosed at the Department of Pathology, Medical Faculty of Dicle University, Turkey from 1983 to 1999 were reviewed. Results: Thirteen patients (40.6%) had dysgerminoma, nine (28.1%) had immature teratoma (four grade 1, three grade 2, and two grade 3), eight (25%) had endodermal sinus tumor, and two (6.3%) patients had mixed germ cell tumors. Site of involvement was unilateral in 30 (19 on the right and 11 on the left) and bilateral in two. All patients underwent primary surgery and 26 patients combination chemotherapy. There seemed to be a relationship between pathologic findings and clinical outcome, and MOGCT histologic types may affect the prognosis. Conclusion: Dysgerminoma had a better prognosis than the nondysgerminomatous group (p < 0.05). This study provides additional data in confirmation of previous reports that management of MOGCT with fertility preservation is safe.Öğe Neurofibromatosis and pregnancy: Three case-reports(2007) Sakar M.N.; Gül T.Three pregnant women with neurofibromatosis were hospitalized due to hypertension and pain of labor were evaluated according to their obstetrical complications. The first case was diagnosed as preeclampsia and term pregnancy with contractions while the second as prior cesarean section and term pregnancy with contractions and the third as preterm labor and deep anemia. Immediate cesarean section was performed due to cephalopelvic disproportion in the first case and low height in the second case. Besides, the third case had normal vaginal delivery on the same day. No postpartum complications were developed in the first two cases whereas in the third case a decreas in hematocrit level and acute abdomen were seen on the third day of postpartum period. Retroperitoneal hematoma was observed in this patient who was immediately taken to surgery. Hypertension and hemiplegia were seen in the patient on the postoperative 11th day. Intrahemispheric hemorrhage was reported in cranial computerized tomography. There are several discussions on pregnancy and neurofibromatosis. It was reported, in the only large serial trial that neurofibromatosis does not increase the obstetrical complications; whereas there are also several case reports which demonstrate complications as hypertension, IUGR, stillbirth, spontaneous abortion, preterm labor are increased in pregnancies with neurofibromatosis. In one of the cases the pregnancy followed up without any complication. The existence of complications in the other two cases suggests that pregnancy of neurofibromatosis patients should be carefully followed up until the contradictions are entirely ended.Öğe Neurofibromatosis and pregnancy: Three case-reports(2007) Sakar M.N.; Gül T.Three pregnant women with neurofibromatosis were hospitalized due to hypertension and pain of labor were evaluated according to their obstetrical complications. We report the following occurrence in a 17 year old woman following delivery. Signs, symptoms, and pathophysiology are reviewed and treatment is discussed.Öğe Primary gastric choriocarcinoma: Case report(2000) Bayhan G.; Yaldiz M.; Yalinkaya A.; Kilinç N.; Gül T.; Erden A.C.[No abstract available]Öğe Treatment of chronic cervicitis: The loop electrosurgical excision procedure(1997) Hakverdi A.U.; Gül T.; Taner C.E.; Vural A.; Erden A.C.; Yilmaztürk A.The effectiveness and morbidity of excisional biopsy of cervical tissue using the electrosurgical excision procedure for the treatment of chronic cervicitis was investigated. In this study, loop diathermy was used in the treatment of one hundred patients with chronic cervicitis. Before the procedure, cervical smear and colposcopic examination were done. Then the loop diathermy was performed under local anesthesia. All the removed specimens were evaluated histopathologically. The mean operation time was 6.34 ± 1.37 minutes. The complication of bleeding and secondary infection were 5% and 4%, respectively. All the patients had normal cervical smear (Papanicolaou class I or II). In the microscopic evaluation, thermal damage of the removed specimens were negligible. Six cases (6%) with CIN (CIN I = 4, CIN II = 2) were determined and the others (94%) were reported as chronic cervicitis in the histopathologic examinations of the removed specimens. After the operation, these cases with CIN were followed up for one year with cervical smears and colposcopic examinations. One of the six patients with CIN had recurrence and underwent cold-knife conization. This new technique is simple, quick and cheap. It can be used confidently to provide both diagnosis and treatment with minimal thermal tissue injury in cases with chronic cervicitis.Öğe Uterus didelphys with a pregnancy ruptured in the second trimester: A case report(2007) Sakar M.N.; Gül T.Uterus didelphys takes place in the Class III in the classification of Müllerian malformation according to American Society for Reproductive Medicine. The case with spontaneous pregnancy consulted with the complaints of abdominal pain developed in the second trimester, an ache in both shoulders and vomitting. Acute abdominal findings were observed in the examination. An eighteen week, two- day fetus with no cardiac activity in uterin cavity and common free fluid in abdomen was observed through ultrasonography. Free fluid was observed to be hemoragic in parasynthesis accompanied with ultrasonography. The patient was taken to an immediate surgery. The patient was observed to have uterus didelphys, and to have a rupture in hypoplasic hemiuterus where pregnancy occured. The patient's hypoplasic hemiuterus ruptured due to pregnancy was removed. The case with uterus didelphys whose pregnancy ended up in the second trimester has been presented with clinical findings.
