Öğe Investigation of middle school students’ attitudes towards music course according to their specialization in music course(Nilgun SAZAK, 2024) Bağcı, Hakan; Celil, Nur; Çelik, SibelThe purpose of this research is to examine the attitudes for music lessons according to the branching status in middle school music lessons. The sample of the research consists of schools randomly selected from among the schools in the districts of Kocaeli Province, which are found to have branching and not branching. The study seems to be suitable for the relational screening model from the comparison type. In the study, a 15-question survey was prepared by the researcher to determine their status regarding branching. In addition to the questionnaire, the Attitude Scale for Music Lesson developed by Varış and Cesur (2012) was used. At the end of the research, it can be said that branching affects students’ attitudes for music lessons in terms of awareness and positive attitude dimensions. There was a significant difference in favor of female students between the levels of students’ attitudes for the Music Lesson according to their gender, but no significant difference was found between female and male students in terms of negative attitudes. It has been determined that the Attitudes for Music Lesson show a significant difference according to the Education Level of the Parents. It is thought that students’ ability to play an instrument has a positive effect on students’ attitudes towards music. As an important field that affects the individual in many ways, the issue of how the attitude towards the music lesson can be changed and what it can be affected by is of great importance in terms of educational sciences.
