Öğe The investigation of the prognostic value of mean platelet volume in patients with sudden hearing loss(2014) Gul A.; Bakir S.; Akdağ M.; Özkurt F.E.; Özbay M.; Kiniş V.OBJECTIVE: The study was aimed to observe the changes in mean platelet volume in patients with sudden hearing loss, taking the close relationship of vascular reasons and sudden hearing loss into account.MATERIALS AND METHODS: Patients who were admitted and treated with sudden hearing loss in the study. The control group was made up of healthy people. The hemoglobin values, mean platelet volumes, platelet counts of the groups were recorded.RESULTS: Forty sixth patients in the sudden hearing loss group and 45 patients in the control group were evaluated. No statistically significant difference between the two groups regarding mean platelet volume values and platelet counts were found. There was also no significant difference between the high mean platelet volumes and hearing loss levels.CONCLUSIONS: We think it would be beneficial to examine the mean platelet volume values in further studies with more patient series on patients with sudden hearing loss.Öğe Stress intensity anlaysis of biaxial stressed single elliptical hole in plate according to change of hole inclination and geometry(2011) Özben T.T.; Arslan N.; Özbay M.Discontinuities such as the holes in a finite plate under loading while the more stress concentrations around holes causes. Applied to the edges of plate and the different rates the principal stresses (?1/ ?2) around the hole were caused by the stress components (x, y) changes investigated. For biaxial stress in the plate, according to the different stress rate variation of stress intensity was obtained around the hole According to long edge (2b) and short edge (2a) of ellipse hole length the distribution of stress field occurring in the plate surfaces were are showed. Moreover, according to the plate width (H) the maximum stress value was calculated using the finite element method for different stress rates and large edge length of an ellipse. The inclination (?=00, 15 0, 300, 450 and 900) of ellipse hole with different geometries, according to the plate axis the maximum stress values and the stress field distribution the finite element and analytic method are obtained, and results were compared.
