Sağlık hizmeti alma gereksinimi insanların değişen istek ve ihtiyaçlarına göre şekillenmiş, tıptaki teknolojik gelişmelerin sonucunda bazı değişimlere uğramıştır. Türkiye’de sağlık turizmi, gelişmekte olan bir ülkenin; gelişmekte olan bir hizmet sektörüdür. Türkiye’de turizm, küresel terörizm gibi bazı iç ve dış dinamiklere göre değişkenlik göstermiştir. Türkiye, kendi kaynak ve olanaklarına uygun, sektöre yönelik stratejik hedefler belirlemiş ve etkin politikalar geliştirmektedir. Yabancı sermaye artırımında önemli olan sağlık turizmi, bir ülke için; döviz kaynağı olarak sağlık sektörünün sunumunda, dünya pazarına açılan kapısını niteler. Çalışmanın konusunu, bireysel harcama düzeyi yüksek ve özel pazarı olan sağlık turizminin, Türkiye'deki mevcudiyetinin tespiti ve ülke ekonomisine katkılarının incelenmesi teşkil etmektedir. Ülkemizdeki sağlık turizminin unsurlarını, olanaklarını ve potansiyel gücünü irdelemek, bu durumu ileriye taşıyacak girişimlere ışık tutmaya çalışma amacı taşımak, konuyu önemli kılmaktadır. Niteliksel araştırmanın çerçevesini biçimlendiren, teorik çalışmanın dayanağını oluşturan bilgi araçları, sektörle ilgili literatür taramasından elde edilen veriler, tümevarım yöntemi ile nesnel bir yaklaşım içinde değerlendirilmiştirThe importance of health tourism, which is the popular service sector of the recent years, increased rapidly especially in terms of economy. The need for obtaining health service was shaped according to the changing requirements and desires of mankind and went through some changes as a result of the technological advances in medicine. Health tourism in Turkey is a developing service sector of a developing country. The tourism in Turkey indicated variations due to some internal and external dynamics such as global terrorism. Turkey specified strategic goals for the sector, which are appropriate for her sources and opportunities, and is developing effective policies. Health tourism, which is important for foreign capital increase, characterizes its door opening to world market for a country as the presentation of health sector as an foreign exchange source. The determination of health tourism’s existency and analyzing its contributions to the country’s economy, which has a high personal expenditure level and a special market, constitutes the subject of the study. Examination of the elements, opportunities and potential power of health tourism in our country and aiming to work for the attempts trying to shed light acting upon this situation, makes the topic important.
