Ahşabın kolay erişilebilirliği, yapı malzemesi olarak kullanımını kolaylaştırmış ve birçok yapı tipolojisinde kullanılmıştır. Bu bağlamda çalışma da; tek bir yapı türünde sınırlandırılmamıştır. Ahşabın kullanım alanının geniş olması, birçok yapı elemanın da kullanılmasına olanak tanımıştır. Öncelikle ahşabın yapı malzemesi olarak kullanım alanları değerlendirilen çalışmanın amacı, ahşap çatılardaki kullanımı ve gelişiminin tespit edilmesidir. Belirlenen amaca yönelik, Anadolu’da ahşap çatının kullanımı ve gelişimi, literatür taramaları sonucu iz sürme yöntemiyle kronolojik olarak değerlendirilmiş, yaygınlaşması ve gelişimindeki kriterler saptanmıştır. Sonuç olarak, ahşap çatının, bölgelerin iklim ve bitki örtüsüne göre değişen küçük farklılıklar dışında, günümüzde yeni kullanımlarında da ilk kullanımına benzer özelliklerin bulunduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu çalışma, Anadolu’da ahşabın üst örtü olarak kullanımındaki değişiklikleri, farklı yapı türleri ile tespit değerlendirmesinden dolayı arşiv niteliği taşımaktadır. Çalışmanın, Anadolu’daki tarihi yapılarda ahşap kullanımı üzerine yapılacak olan çalışmalar için toplu ve detaylı bilgilerin yer aldığı bir kaynak olacağı düşünülmektedirThe cultural accumulation in Anatolia, which has hosted many civilizations, has also enriched the architecture of the region. First of all, the usage areas of wood as a building material are evaluated and the aim of the study is to determine the development and development of wooden roofs. For the determined purpose, the use and development of the wooden roof in Anatolia was evaluated chronologically with the tracing method as a result of literature reviews, and the criteria for its non-widespread development and its development were determined. As a result, it has been determined that the wooden roof has features similar to its first use in new uses, except for small differences depending on the climate and vegetation of the regions. This study is an archive due to the evaluation of the changes in the use of wood as a top cover in Anatolia with different building types.
