Özet
Effects of alternating current of different magnitudes on bacterial growth were investigated. The numbers of bacteria in E. coli K12 liquid cultures were found experimentally and the variations in these numbers caused by the electrical effect was observed with a digital spectrophotometer and evaluated numerically in synchronization with the control groups. 0-30 mA currents with the frequencies 30, 90, 120 and 800 Hz were applied to the cultures in log phase in 2-h periods. The change in the numbers of bacteria with respect to the current and the frequency was observed. A decreasing effect in the numbers of bacteria for all of the currents except 15 mA was observed.
