Özet

Today, the perceptions of individuals who are performing the teaching profession are very considerable. The objective of this research is to examine the metaphorical perceptions that conservatory students have regarding the concept of singing. The study is a qualitative study, and the data is examined by content analysis. As a data collection tool, eighty-two conservatory students were asked, ‘Singing it is like....... Because......’ They were asked three times to complete the sentence. In accordance with the results of the study; the number of metaphors produced by conservatory students are forty-two and all are valid. The created metaphors are collected in nine diverse categories. By the results of the study, it was observed that the conservatory students who participated in the study produced metaphors frequently in the categories of freedom, breathing, life, and heart. It was seen that the participants mostly created positive metaphors concerning the singing.
