Boy kısalığı ile başvuran hastalarla hiçbir şikayeti olmayan ve tamamen normal olan çocuklarda Growth Hormon (GH) reservini değerlendirmek amacı ile growth hormon releasing hormon (GHRH) testi yapıldı. GHRH 1 microgram/kg intravenöz yavaş puşe 12 normal (6 prepubertal, 6 pubertal) ve 32 büyüme geriliği olan çocuğa uygulandı. Çalışma sonunda GHRH testinin GH reservini çıkarması bakımından iyi bir test olduğu ayrıca hipotalamik ve hipofizer orjinli büyüme geriliğinin ayrımında faydalı olduğu görüldü.
Growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) test was performed in order to evaluate the Growth Hormone (GH) reserve in patients who presented with short stature and in children who had no complaints and were completely normal. GHRH 1 microgram/kg intravenous slow push was administered to 12 normal (6 prepubertal, 6 pubertal) and 32 growth retarded children. At the end of the study, it was seen that the GHRH test was a good test in terms of removing the GH reserve and also useful in distinguishing growth retardation of hypothalamic and pituitary origin.
