Özet
Demineralized bone powder (DBP) and granular coral (C) implants on the new bone formations were studied using 28 Wistar albino rats were. DBP was applied to prepared bone cavites on the femur in 14 rats and granular C implants were applied in the other 14 rats. The animals were sacrificed at the 3rd and 6th weeks, and the femurs were removed and examined histopathologically. It was observed that the DBP did not induce bone formation within a 3 weeks period but showed highly osteoinductive effect in the 6 weeks period. However the effects of C implants on bone formation both at 3 weeks and 6 weeks periods were much more higher than the DBP.
