Birleşmiş Milletler engelli kişilerin haklarına dair sözleşme ve Türkiye'de engelli hakları

Birleşmiş Milletler Engelli Kişilerin Haklarına Dair Uluslararası Sözleşme engelli bireylere eşitlik, haysiyet, özerklik ve topluma tam katılım tanıyan ilk kapsamlı sözleşmedir. Sözleşme 21’inci yüzyılın ilk insan hakları belgesi olarak kabul edilmektedir. Bu nedenle Sözleşme büyük bir öneme sahiptir. Türkiye Birleşmiş Milletler Engelli Kişilerin Haklarına Dair Uluslararası Sözleşmesine taraf olduktan sonra engellilere ilişkin birçok yasal düzenleme yapmıştır. Bu makale Birleşmiş Milletler Engelli Kişilerin Haklarına Dair Uluslararası Sözleşmesini genel olarak değerlendirmekte ve Türkiye’deki engelli haklarında gelinen noktayı göstermeyi amaçlamaktadır

United Nations Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities is the first comprehensive treaty establishing the right of people with all types of disabilities to equality, dignity, autonomy, and full participation in society. The Convention is regarded as the first human rights document of the 21st century. Therefore, the Convention has a great importance. After Turkey is a party to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, It has made many regulations regarding the disabled persons. This article studies to display a general evaluation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and aims to demonstrate the current stage reached regarding the rights of persons with disabilities in Turkey
