Özet
Neo-gelenekselçi akımın önemli temsilcilerinden olan Timoty John Winter, İslam ve Hristiyanlık Politik-Teoloji Denemeleri isimli eserinde, Hristiyan ve İslam geleneklerini, her iki dinî gelenek açısından anlamlı olan kişi ve semboller üzerinden mukayese etmektedir. Bu açıdan eser, klasik, mukayeseli dinler tarihi kitaplarından farklıdır. Geniş bir konu seçkisiyle çalışma; dinler tarihi, İslam tarihi, İslam mezhepleri tarihi, din sosyolojisi ve tasavvuf alanında çalışan araştırmacılar için oldukça geniş ve değerli bir entelektüel tecrübe sunmaktadır.
Timoty John Winter, one of the most significant representatives of the neo-traditionalist movement, compares the Christian and Islamic traditions through the people and symbols that are meaningful for both religious traditions in his work titled Islam and Christianity Political-Theological Essays. In this respect, the work is different from classical, comparative books on the history of religions. The work with a wide selection of topics; it offers a wide and valuable intellectual experience for researchers studying in the history of the religions, Islamic history, the history of Islamic sects, sociology of religion and tasawwuf.
