Özet
In early periods authenticity of hadiths was considered in the context of jarh-ta'dil. There are some accusations directed to al-imam as-Shafir in jarh-ta'dil's references. Yahya b. Main(d. 233/848) reports us some discussions about him. Moving the claims forward el-icli (d. 261/875) asserts that al-Shafif inclines to at-tashayyu'. Another controversial issue is that al-Bukhari and Muslim did not transmit any narration from him. Because of mentioned reasons an argument has been rised about that he is not competent at hadith transmittions. This argument has been refused and objected by hadith scholars. Many scholars at 'Ilmu'r-Rical emphasized that he is a reliable transmitter at hadith narratives. it is open to question to accuse someone who compiled a first writing about hadith methodology (ar-Risale) and ikhtilaful-Hadis of being not reliable. In this paper mentoined claims has been examined in details.
