Özet
Edebî bir tür olarak roman, geniş ve ayrıntılı anlatımlara imkân tanımasıyla öne çıkar. Romancı, olay
örgüsü dâhilinde gerçekleşen hadiseler karşısında kişilerin psikolojik durumunu, çeşitli teknikler kullanarak
kapsamlı bir şekilde anlatabilir. Roman türünün bu özelliği sayesinde okuyucu, kahramanların duygu dünyasını
daha iyi idrak eder. Halit Ziya Uşaklıgil de romanlarında kurguladığı kahramanların psikolojisini anlatmaya
özen gösteren bir romancıdır. Yazarın Mai ve Siyah romanı, Türk edebiyatında roman türünü Batı’daki seviyeye
ulaştıran eserler arasındadır. Bu romanda, büyük hayallere sahip olan Ahmet Cemil’in serüveni okuyucuya
ayrıntılı bir şekilde anlatılır. Halit Ziya, roman kahramanının duygu dünyasına da eserinde yer verir. Bu
makalede Mai ve Siyah romanı incelenmiş ve romanın kahramanı Ahmet Cemil’in yaşadığı düş kırıklıkları
neticesinde duygu dünyasında oluşan farkındalıklar tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır.
Novel, as a literary genre, stands out with its ability to provide extensive and detailed narrations. In relation to the events that take place within the boundaries of the plot, the novelist is then able to narrate the mental state of the individuals extensively by using different techniques. By virtue of this aspect of the genre of the novel, the reader is able to realize the state of emotions of the heroes better. Halit Ziya Uşaklıgil too is a novelist who cares the emotional state of the heroes he heroizes in his novels. Mai ve Siyah is amongst the novels of him that catches up the level of novel genre of the West. In this novel, the adventure of Ahmet Cemil who has high dreams is told in detail. Halit Ziya gives place to the emotional state of the heroes as well in his work. In this article, we analyzed Mai ve Siyah, one of the outstanding works of Halit Ziya, and tried to determine the awareness related to the emotional state of Ahmet Cemil, the hero of the novel, as a result of disappointments he experiences.
